**NOTE** Keep a copy of everything you do IC. No OOC exchanges will be considered for raising.
Upon biography approval and acceptance into Netland Towers, you must meet the following guidelines to move up in rank in every guild.
Requirements:
- The Character must accumulate a total of 350 Points (maximum 550) and distribute them as required by the Guild.
- The Player must satisfy the Guild Leader in regards to writing skills.
- We seek to maintain a high level of writing quality. Players will be encouraged to grow as writers.
- Players can expect feedback and constructive criticism on their writing skills.
- Few here are teachers or professional writers, but we all strive to grow, please take comments with grace and good humor in the spirit of helpfulness they are given.
- The Character must show growth, behavior, and learning appropriate to the Guild, age, and station.
- Characters grow at different rates, they learn different skills and means of coping with the world.
- Rarely does a person (thus a character) do an entire personality turnaround, but they do grow.
- Appropriate IC time should be allowed to pass - A Novice may spend 7 years in the white, while a Thief may learn the beginnings of his trade in 2.
How the requirements are demonstrated:
- RP with your Guild Leader.
- RP with others in public forums.
- Submit a Raising Request to the Guild Leader when the Points Requirement is met. Wait an appropriate interval for a response. [If you have not gotten a response in a week, re-send the request. If another week passes with no response, email the Amyrlin Seat.]
- The request should consist of three (3) examples of writing: the link to the character biography and two (2) RP posts. Put the posts in context - include a few other posts from the thread.
- Keep copies of everything you post - you may be asked for further writings.
- Expect constructive critiques even if you gain approval - no one is here to hurt feelings, only to grow.
If the Requirements are deemed met:
- You will receive an email within one week (see above) telling you to write a fic of no less than 9 paragraphs.
- This fic should be Guild-appropriate: Novices should write about the three arches, other guilds about significant growth experiences, lessons they have so far learned, and goals they have.
- Be sure to spell- and grammar-check your fic.
- Send the fic to the Librarian.
- When the fic is posted, your promotion is complete. Congratulations! Being Raised earns 20 points.
Requirements:
- The Character must accumulate 350 points (a total of 700, with a maximum of 1000) and distribute them as required by the Guild.

- Appropriate time should be allowed to pass - A Dedicated is expected to learn and grow so fast many die in the training, while a Whitecloak Soldier could live his life at one rank.
How the Requirements are demonstrated:

- Submit a Raising Request to the Guild Leader when the Points Requirement is met. Wait an appropriate interval. [If you have not gotten a response in a week, re-send the request. If another week passes with no response, email the Amyrlin Seat.]
- The request should consist of four (4) examples of writing: the link to the character biography, the link to the Raising Fic, and two (2) RP posts. Put the posts in context - include a few other posts from the thread.
- Keep copies of everything you post - you may be asked for further writings.
- Expect constructive critiques even if you gain approval - no one is here to hurt feelings, only to grow.
If the Requirements are deemed met:
- You will receive an email within one week (see above) with instructions to write a fic.
- This fic should be Guild-appropriate and should involve your character in a moral dilemma, where they must choose between two things important to them. It is such choices that help define who a person truly is. The journey to the decision can be a fascinating read. (i.e. friendship vs. success, truth vs. torture, etc)
- Be sure to spell- and grammar-check your fic.
- Send the fic to the Librarian.
- When the fic is posted, your promotion is complete. Congratulations! Being Raised earns 20 points.
Once you achieve top ranking, your involvement in the site is not expected to cease. We would like to see you active in your Guild, among your peers, out in the larger world and helping out with the training of newer members.
- Coach and interact with the first- and second-rank characters in your Guild.
- To maintain active status, you must post points (that is, RP) each month. Three months without RP equals inactivity. Being inactive could result in your character becoming "community property," or the property of your bondmate.
- Site Officials are required to RP no less than every month.
To be officially bonded, a fanfic must be submitted regarding how the pair met and some details of the relationship they are going to have. Submit to Librarian.
- Characters must have attained the proper ranks, or severe IC sanctions will be imposed.
- Bondings may be against a character's will (may be subject to IC sanctions), but will not be done against a player's will.
- Most of the bondings in the books were not in anyway romantic. It often works better the other way, lends more creativity for role-playing and writing.
If you have any questions, email your Guild Leader, the Amyrlin Seat, or the Keeper of the Chronicles.
