by Aryth Leafeon and Jade al'Mayre
Jade Sedai stood quietly in the grove near the river where the water beat a steady rhythm over the rocks. Her eyes watered as she flung her arms open to the sky, the pale ivory of her silken dress cascading over her arms. "Creator let my decision be senseful!" she shouted, her voice carrying over the wind.
The sun was beginning to set in the horizon, the pink melding with purple and the dusk turning to night. A lone man walked up from the sun it seemed, his golden hair shining in the fading light. "Jade?" he inquired, his voice smooth as his features.
Jade spun around, facing the man, searching his blue-green eyes, looking for his sure sense she envied. "It is time, no?" she asked, more to herself than to the man she face. Aryth shook his head in agreement, kneeling before the Yellow Aes Sedai.
Looking once more to the sky with her golden brown eyes, Jade tossed her chestnut curls over one shoulder and placed her hands on his head. "M'lady" Aryth swore to the woman, crossing over his right arm and pounding his heart. "To you I swear to protect and save from all danger I can. To you I know my life shall be bonded to and for this I thank the Creator."
Jade smiled upon Aryth, his face was serious as a stone. Embracing the Source, Jade began to weave the intricate weaves for bonding, being sure each was placed in the appropriate place. She felt Aryth shudder.
"That felt strange" he murmured, his green-blue eyes peering into hers as Jade continued to push and pull the weaves between them. Soon, just as the sun dissapered into night and the stars began to peek out, s he pulled her hands from Aryth, stepping back, a calm look upon her face.
"It is done" she whispered, noticing something besides her own thoughts in her mind. "I sense you..." she squealed in excitement. Aryth picked Jade up, slinging her over one shoulder and began to run down the hill into the stars. "And I you, Jade Sedai, MY Aes Sedai." They both laughed into the night.
