Maever slinked into the Inn, looking around furtively for any Asha'man before seeing it is clear and perching on a stool to get a drink.
Arte pushes the open the door to the Inn with a grin on his face. He has a small bounce in his step as scans the room. He sees Maever at the bar and walks to stand next to him. "Hello there Maever."
Maever jumps a little in his seat but calms down on seeing it's just Arte. "Oh, hi," he said with a smile. "You do be looking... pleased." That seemed to be the closest word.
Alya sits in her favorite old arm chair by the fire clad in mismatched, brightly colored tinker garb and her hair pulled up in a tight bun and covered by a bright, blue and green, decorative scarf. Seems to be speaking quietly with a male tinker across from her while she sips her tea.
Arte shakes his head and gives a small chuckle. "You could say that. I'm not sure why, but I've been feeling very good today." Arte orders a cup of kaf for himself from the serving maid behind the bar
Maever eyes the drink Arte orders with some suspicion. "What's that?" he asked warily.
Arte raises an eyebrow and laughs. "This? It's called kaf. It's from Seanchan, I think. You've never had it?"
Maever shakes his head. "No. Seanchan? I do no trust it."
Alya glances around at the younger people in the room and bites her lip, shifting a little nervously...still unsure if she should even be there, but when the man across from her reaches over to touch her hand and questiones her, she fixes him with a reassuring smile and nods her head before going back to her tea. She just hopes no one she knows comes in, or that they don't recognize her.
Arte nods to the serving maid as she puts the cup and pot in front of him. He takes a small sip of the dark liquid. "You don't trust them? I've never been given a reason to distrust them but i suppose war is bad enough."
Maever only replied with a shrug at first. "Stories," he said simply. "Though I do be noticing that many of them are not true. Still, I do no like the idea of a collar."
Arte taps the bar with his knuckles. "But you are a man, so that mean there is no collar for you, right?"
Maever frowns. "The collars we do be knowing of are used on women," he says soberly.
Lydia enters the common room from the back after another meeting with Rose. She looks about the room, but seeing no one she recognizes she slides onto an empty bar stool and orders a glass of wine.
Kyler enters the inn and heads to the bar while he glances around the common room. He nods to Arte and Maever in greeting and then his eyes fall on the tinkers. He pauses as he looks at the woman and then turns to the bar ordering a stiff drink.
Maever salutes to Asha'man Kyler without really thinking about it.
Arte takes another sip of his kaf before blowing on it. He gives a seated bow, fist to heart, to Kyler as he passes. "So how have you been Maever? It's been a while since we have talked."
Lydia spots Kyler and smiles, though her suddenly seems....bothered, "Evening, Kyler.'
Alya glances up each time she hears someone knew enter and when the Asha'man enters, she nearly drops her tea and immediately whips her head around to look at the fire so that the main focus would be her profile. As an afterthought, she tucks a stray strand of her golden hair under her head scarf and then flashed a smile at her husband once more when he looks at her oddly. Either someone stuck a thistle under her bum, or she had another one of her brief little episodes of...strangeness.
Maever picks at his sleeve. "I, uh. I do be working on my accent," he said. He went a shade of pink.
Arte nodded and hid a small smile behind his cup. "Well it sounds good. I didn't really think it needed work, but it does sound better."
Kyler slowly realizes that the tinker woman looked very familiar. He turns back around and openly stares at the woman who was now turned away from him.
Maever smiled brightly. "Do you be thinking so?" he asked keenly. "Uh, thanks. A couple of Tairens did be a bit... uh, rude about it." He asked for a drink of water from the serving girl.
Lydia looks at Kyler with confusion. He would never outright ignore her. Her eyes follow his. "DO you know her?"
Arte didn't understand the whole rivalry between Illian and Tear, but he wasn't going to say that to the man. Arte cleared his throat and spun on his stool to look around the common room. He saw what appeared to be a Tinker couple in the corner. He eyed them curiously before shifting his gaze to Lydia Sedai and Asha'man Kyler
Kyler glances at Lydia and nods, "Good Evening Lydia." He indicates with a nod of his head, "I can't recall ever seeing Tinkers in Tar Valon. And yes she looks familiar. Like I should know her but I don't know any tinkers"
Alya stiffens as she feels eyes on her back and decides to stick her nose in her tea. Her husband, however, looks over at the staring Asha'man and frowns sternly.
Maever awkwardly sips his water. "Sorry," he mumbled. "I did think it would make time at the Black Tower easier. What about you? Have the Aes Sedai been keeping you busy?"
Lydia narrows her eyes so as to look at the woman better, "I do not either. The man with her does not seem overly pleased by the staring. Perhaps we should ask them to join us or something? Tinkers can be interesting and then you could see if you really do know her."
Arte leaned back with his elbows on the bar. "Well i hope that works out for you. And yes, the Aes Sedai have been keeping me very busy. Very busy indeed."
Maever tilted his head at the tone. "Arte, what trouble did you get into?" he asked with a small grin.
Arte looks at Maever out of the corner of his eye. It sounded like the man already knew. Arte spun back to his kaf and burried his face in the cup. "I've been in no trouble. Recently."
Maever leaned forwards with a laugh. "Come on Arte, you do no make hints at things then back away!"
Alya Glances at her husband when he leans over to murmur something close to her ear and shakes her head, waving a dismissive hand and then laying that hand on his shoulder as if to soothe him into sitting back and relaxing again.
Arte grumbles nasty curse into his cup that he hopes no one hears. "Well all in all, I made a very foolish choice and i was punished for it. Very hard. Thankfully, the punishment itself is over so i can joke about it."
Kyler nods, "Perhaps," He takes a drink and almost chokes on it. He suddenly knew where he knew where he knew her from. The way her hand moved to the man that was with her. It had to be, but his mind didn't want to believe it.
Maever says: "We all do make foolish choices," the Soldier supposed. "Do Siswai not get into trouble all the time?"
Lydia frowns at Kyler's reaction, "You do know her?" She is fairly certain he has figured it out.
Kyler clears his throat and turns away from staring. He locks his eyes on Lydia and whispers one word, "Alya"
Arte shakes his head. "Not that often for serious things. There is the occasional prankster and every once in a while someone snaps at a Warder. Is the Black Tower different?
Maever picked at his sleeves again. "There do be pranks," he said slowly.
Lydia 's eyes widen in disbelief as her head whips around towards the brightly dressed woman, "It can't be!"
Arte raised an eyebrow. "Now Maever, you can hold out on me. Pranks at the Black Tower seem like they might be dangerous."
Miralee enters the Inn, trying to avoid the wind from making her hair fly too oddly. The novice, at first, doesn't notice everyone who is here, and wanders to a table off to the side. She orders water from a passing serving girl, and settles in to read.. or seemingly to read.
Maever sips his water. "They do be dangerous, sometimes," he said detachedly.
Kyler turns and speaks in a clear voice, "Alya Tesvin" He watches for any response from her.
Alya pauses in the middle of speaking casually with her husband and freezes, her back going stiff as if she'd been goosed.
Lydia raises her glass to her lips taking a long sip trying to mask the anticipation she feels. This could be very bad for Kyler but as she remembers Alya is not in the best standing with the White Tower.
Arte is distracted by thinking of what the possible pranks at the Black Tower could be. When the cold wind passes through the room, Arte looks up to see who came in. He almost chokes on the kaf he was drinking. He turns back to the bar and hunches his shoulders. "Tell me about these pranks Maever" Arte said quickly
Kyler frowns at the reaction. It was her. He stands thinking about going over to her. "Alya, you might as well turn and let us see you. No use hiding now."
Maever looked confused. "Uhh. Well, one time, they did set my sheets on fire. I did be sleeping at the time. My hair does smell of cinders sometimes."
Arte nods and glances over his shoulder. It appeared that Miralee is just reading so Arte relaxes a little and sits up straigher. "They set you on fire? Why in the world would someone do that?
"Alya; is there something wrong? Do you know that man?" Alya sighs and says nothing in answer to her husband as she slowly turns to face Kyler and smiles a vague smile. "Asha'man Kade."
Lydia can tell by the way the woman stiffen Kyler is correct. She waits on the edge of her seat to see what will happen between the two as Alya acknowledges Kyler should she need to intercede.
Maever simply shrugged. "Black Tower pranks do be dangerous," he reminded him drily. "Some people prank. Others... are pranked."
Miralee sips on the water and opens a book. She holds also a quill and paper and begins jotting down pertinent details brought up in the book. She is far more attentive than she seems, taking note of those she can see and what is going on out of the corner of her eyes.
Kyler does his best not to let his knees going out from under him. He sets the drink on the bar. He was having a hard time with the knowledge she was alive. "I...I thought you were dead."
Arte pours himself a new cup of kaf and orders a bowl of stew from the passing serving maid. "Which one are you Maever?" Arte thinks he might already know, but Maever might just decide to surprise him.
Maever gives Arte a very flat look.
Lydia is fairly certain she should be taking the woman into custody but she can see Kyler needs some answers first.
Arte grins and laughs loudly while he claps Maever on the shoulder. "Light, be easy friend. I'm sure that you are the meanest prankster on this side of the Aryth ocean"
Miralee pours herself into the book.. or appears to. She does find the mannerisms of the Aes Sedai, the Asha'man, and the other woman to be quite intriguing. She pauses, though, when she hears a voice that sounds familiar... glancing up to study the other patrons of the Inn more closely.
Alya just stares at Kyler a moment, wanting to do so many things; her emotions warring with each other but chooses to keep her false smile in place and ignores her husband's confused staring. "I don't see why you would have any reason to think that."
Maever doesn't return the laugh, though the corner of his mouth twitched momentarily. "Meanest, perhaps. I do no prank very well. No subtelty, they say." He didn't seem to mind.
Kyler frowns, "You have to know we searched for you. I could find no trace. And why in the name of the Light would you come back here? You have to know they may take you into custody again."
Lydia sighs now knowing for sure she should be doing just that but still leaves the Asha'man his time to deal with the woman,
Arte chuckles to himself and shakes his head. "No subtlelty? Now that sounds like a White Tower prank to me."
Maever sips his water and is decidedly silent on the matter. Arte didn't need to know he'd never made a prank in his time at the Black Tower.
Miralee sees.. maybe.. someone she recognizes... and she wonders whether she should... No, she shouldn't. The novice doesn't want to get into trouble the moment she seems to be getting back into everyone's good graces. The Domani girl tucks a lock of hair behind an ear and looks back down at her notes. She clears her throat and begins again with her study of the book.. and of the other people in the Inn.
"Jory, could you go upstairs and look for my book? I seem to have misplaced it." "...Alya?" Alya smiles and turns to her husband, touching his arm lightly. "Please?" Waits until the man gives in before turning back to Kyler.
Alya says: "What I choose to do is no longer of any concern to yours. I an fully aware of the risks of coming here."
Arte sighs happily when his stew is set in front of him. It smelled delicious and he dug right in. With the spoon in his hand Arte starts to look over his shoulder again, but stops when he sees that Mira is looking around the common room. "So what is the training like at the Black Tower Maever?"
Lydia frowns unhappy with her Ajah Sister's tone. She must be an idiot to talk so with both Kyler and an Aes Sedai sitting right there.
Maever looked at the stew warily too. That wasn't Seanchan too, was it? He didn't dare ask. "It does be difficult, but no whining." he seemed to be quoting someone.
Kyler stands there just watching the two and then he frowns, "You think I could just stop caring about you? You have ever right to be upset with me but I *never* stopped caring about you."
Arte raises an eyebrow when Maever eyes his stew. "That sounds just like the Warder philosophy for training. Would you like some stew? It quite good."
Alya snorts in disbelief and toys with a tendril of hair that had escaped its bindings. "You have a peculiar way of showing it."
Maever shakes his head. "I am no hungry, thank you." He needed to eat more but it was difficult. He watched the miniature domestic with a vaguely unimpressed eye. Asha'man and Aes Sedai arguing like... like an Illianer and a Tairen, he thought drily.
Kyler says: "Blood and Ashes! Are we back to that again? Yes I did something I shouldn't have. I apologized for it. And you and I have both paid the price of it." He sighs and dropped his gaze to the floor.
Miralee sighs, closing her book and putting down her quill, unable to keep her concentration on what she was supposed to be doing. The novice turns to a fresh piece of parchment and writes.
Lydia feels like a total intruder on a moment that should be private.
Arte shrugs and smiles as he bends back to his bowl. He picks the bowl up and holds it one hand while he turns to look at what held the mans attention. It appeared that sparks were about to fly between an Aes Sedai and an Asha'man. Arte's gaze keeps flickering to the novice in the corner, even though he tries not too.
Alya stares at Kyler for a moment, frowning and then sighing, reaching up to pinch the bridge of her nose briefly before looking up again. "...I went to the location where our home once was. Did you think I wouldn't notice it gone? I think that's a clear sign that you've cut off all ties to me, so why pretend to care now?"
Maever drummed his fingers on the bar table. "Arte," he began slowly. He paused, frowning.
Miralee rolls the parchment.. tying it with a white ribbon from her hair. With the impending drama, she hopes that the Aes Sedai do not notice as she slips the parchment to a serving girl... and whispers.
Arte shakes his head and his focus snaps back to reality. His cheeks turn a little red and he clears his throat. "Yeah Maever?"
Maever didn't appear to notice his friend's blushing. "Do you think you will be a Warder one day?"
Kyler head snaps up, "I thought you had died! That place held so many memories for me and I thought you was gone." His voice drops to almost a whisper, "I didn't want it to remind me of what I had lost."
Lydia 's heart breaks for Kyler. There is such pain in those words.
Arte 's spoon stops halfway to his mouth. He slowly lowers it and sets the whole bowl on the bar. "Truthfully, I'm not sure. I think I have the willpower, but sometimes i doubt my ability to protect people."
Maever looked thoughtful. "Hmmm," was his only response.
Arte opens his mouth in a question when the serving maid comes by and slips a rolled peice of parchment into his hand. He is about to ask a question when she giggles and gently tilts her head towards the corner. Arte feels heat rising in his cheeks. He tries to act nonchalant in front of Maever, so he casually opens the note and reads it to himself.
Maever looks on curiously.
"... ... ... " Alya falls silent, her mouth opening and closing as if trying to force something out before she quickly looks away with a stubborn frown. "Well it's all a pointless argument really. I don't really know why I came here. I can't decide if it's because I'm homesick or if I just wanted some closure."
Arte blushes even harder at the note. It was a note from Miralee saying that it was nice to see him, even if it was just from across the room. Arte coughed and rolled up the parchment and put it in his coat pocket. "Pardon me, that was a note from a...friend." Arte flags down the serving maid and requests a peice of parchment and quill.
Miralee tries not to watch the Siswai and the Soldier from across the room. The novice tilts her head and opens her book once more, trying to look as if she is fully engrossed in her study.
Maever opens his mouth in a silent "oh". He wasn't jealous, but Arte did seem so sure of himself. It probably came with having flowing hair.
Lydia stands slowly and approaches Kyler. She places a hand on his arm in quiet support.
Arte cleared his throat. When the parchment and quill arrives he scribbles a short note back to Miralee. He hunches his shoulders and cover the paper. Arte didn't think that Maever would try to read it, but it was embarrassing nonetheless. Arte sent the note with a serving maid the next time she passed by. "Sorry, I didn't mean to be rude. I just...uhh.. business to take care of, you know how it is."
Maever nodded as if he did know. "Business. Yeah. I do be needing to go sort my business at the Black Tower. Good evening." The Soldier stood, ducked his head in a bow and left the Inn.
Arte felt bad that he might have excluded Maever, but he nodded to the man and gave him a friendly nod as the Soldier left.
Kyler sighs and lets his gaze his the floor again. His one hand slides up and gives Lydia's hand a squeeze. "Well, I hope you find what you are looking for Alya." He turns to the bar and drains his drink in one gulp. "I need some air." He whispers to Lydia and walks towards the back door
Lydia nods and turns to Alya, "Will you come willingly or must we make a scene of this?"
Alya watches Kyler's back, waiting until he's looking away before allowing her expression to soften and then falls back into her chair, resting her head in her hand. "Do what you have to do. Causing a scene would upset my husband..."
Anna wanders into the inn, giving the soldier that walked by a bit of a smile. Scanning the inn she glances at Arte, but spots Miralee in the corner. Giving Arte a nod and grin she makes her way to Miralee. "Found y'er book?" She asked with a broad smile.
Miralee , her nose in her book, tries not to look expectant... and now that the scene between the Aes Sedai and the Asha'man was winding down, it was more likely that they might notice if... She looks up, "Anna... Hi... Yes, I.. did, but this is a different o--" The serving girl, beaming and stifling a giggle, hands Miralee a rolled piece of parchment. The novice blushes and reaches for it.
Lydia nods feeling sorry for everyone involved. She embraces the source and weaves Spirit into a shield. She doesn't think it's needed but doesn't want to be accused of not doing things properly. Once the shield is settled over Alya she heads towards the door, "Let's go then...and for what it's worth I hate to be doing this."
Arte smiles and nods to Anna as she walks into the Inn. He watches her until he realizes that she is walking to Miralee. When he realizes this he turns around and burries his face in his cup. The serving maid with his note was giving it to Mira right now and Arte didn't want her to see how embarrassed he was.
"I understand." Sighs and stands, brushing herself off and casting a glance upstairs before moving for the door, hoping Jory doesn't come down until she's long gone.
Lydia exits the Inn with Alya in tow prepared to restrain her if needed but it doesn't seem it will be. "Would you like word sent to your...husband?"
Anna glances at the parchment and then at the blush. An eye brow twitches in amusement but it is cut off when she looks at the Aes Sedai, her lips parting in surprise.
Miralee unrolls the parchment... vaguely aware of the Aes Sedai walking out. She reads what is on the parchment... and can't help the flush in her cheeks. She slowly rolls the parchment back up and tries to focus on her book... with another clearing of her throat, she says, "So.... Anna... How're your studies going?"
"Jory doesn't even know I can channel. All of this may be too much for him, but I don't want to just leave him without an explaination...so...yes...please."
Lydia nods, "I will see to it then." She could not imagine what her in this position would do to Krion and he understands her life. She leads Alya to a cell in the White Tower where her shield is taken over. She then goes directly to see Jascha.
Anna pulls her eyes away from the two woman, trying her best to act like she has no idea about the channeling. She catches Miralee's blush, and smiles at the girl kindly. She asks the serving maid for a cider before settling into a chair. "Fine, a little slow and boring. Yours appear to be quite... interesting?" Her eyes light up with mischief.
Arte finishes his stew and his kaf, but stays sitting at the bar. Every few minutes he tries to casually peek over his shoulder. From where he is sitting it looks like Mira read his note, and was now just talking with Anna.
Miralee 's eyes widen just a bit, "Interesting? Yes... yes, they are. I am learning quite a bit about different cultures and channeling.. and Tower law." She tries, albeit likely in vain, to remain ignorant of Anna's inference.
Kyler comes back in and lays down several gold pieces. He orders a couple of bottles of something strong and go over to sit in the farthest corner from the Fire, where she had been sitting. Pouring the first of many drinks he sits there with the bottles and his memories.
Anna smiles. "Mmmmhm." She moves to take a sip of her cider, her eyes passing over the inn, only to catch Arte looking at them. Suddenly the girl chokes on her cider as she attempts to not laugh and drink at the same time.
Arte risks another look over his shoulder only to see Anna looking right at him stiffling a laugh. He blushes a deep red and turns back to the bar quickly.
Miralee startles at Anna's choking, "Anna? Are you alright?" She then notices the expression on Anna's face. She blushes just a little...
Anna clears her throat and wipes her eyes. "Yeah," she croaks, "I'm fine. Just... went down the wrong way." Sitting up she openly looks from Arte to Miralee, a question on her face as her eyes fall on Mira. "So... Cultures and Channeling?" She knew her words didn't match the question on her face, but couldn't bring herself to pry at Miralee aloud. Arte, yes, Miralee, no because she didn't know miralee very well.
Jory hurries downstairs, holding a book in his hand. "Alya...I found it. It was under the--" Pauses at the bottom of the stairs and looks around with a frown when he sees her nowhere in sight. "...Alya?"
Miralee looks suddenly down at her book.. "Yes.. mostly. And when there is time, making new friends..." She clears her throat.. "You have made friends here, yes?" She asks casually, looking up for the moment to study Anna's mannerisms.
Anna smiles and nods slowly. "Yes, I'v made lots of friends. They are good to have around when the Mistress decides to womp you with a slipper, for whatever reason." She chuckles. "Arte, there," She nods to him, "I consider him a good friend of mine. Real nice guy." Taking a sip of her drink she glances back at Miralee. "Are you two aquainted?"
Jory glances around and spots the Asha'man that had been staring at his wife earlier and draws in a deep breath, moving over to the man. "You sir...have you seen where my wife has gone? You were speaking with her earlier."
Kyler glances up from his drink to the Tinker, "She's probably been arrested. My guess she is in the White Tower some place." He downs another drink and then pours another.
Miralee tries not to blush. She stares at her book once more, steeling herself, trying to remember the cool demeanor with which she was able to handle business with her mother before coming to the Tower. When it came to Arte, though, everything she knew about maintaining a calm exterior seemed to go out the window. "I.. Yes... we have met... he -is- a nice guy..." She clears her throat... "You two are.. good friends, then?"
Jory Frowns and narrows his eyes. "That's impossible. She hasn't done anything to be arrested for. Don't be absurd and tell me the truth. The last I checked, it wasn't illegal for Tuatha'an to come to Tar Valon, so don't fool with me. Where is she?"
Kyler sighs and shakes his head, "So I take it she never told you about her life before you?"
Anna shrugs, "We've shared a drink or two. He's interesting to speak to, especially after several drinks." She laughed, and watched Miralee from the corner of her eyes, a smile pulling at her lips. "But, I wouldn't say we are *good* friends, just... friends." she nodded slowly, liking that wording.
Miralee seems to be a little.. relieved?.. She even gives Anna a light smile. "Good.. I mean, it's good that you two are friends." She blushes.
Jory furrows his brows and eyes the Asha'man warily. "I trust my wife whole heartedly. She wouldn't keep secrets from me."
Arte breaths deep for a few minutes to calm himself. Once he calms down a little bit Arte risks another look at the girls. It looked like they were having a nice conversation. The Inn had quieted down and Arte tilted his head to try and hear the conversation that Mira and Anna were having.
Anna smiles warmly, resisting the urge to laugh and make a comment. "Since we are all friends why don' we all share a drink?"
Anna glances at Arte, and chuckles at him, hoping he heard so she doesn't have to throw her spoon at him to get his attention.
Kyler looks at him, "Wife?!" He downs another drink, "Um....your name is Jory? Your wife is a rogue Aes Sedai. I used to be her Warder. And she is in a lot of trouble."
Miralee blinks at Anna, "Well, I.. wouldn't be able to pay.. and I don't drink a lot, but maybe some juice or.." She follows Anna's glance... and she blushes a little more... realizing that Anna's trying to get Arte to come over.
Kaela wanders down from upstairs and orders herself a mug of cider She scans the room looking for an interesting diversion this evening...
Jory 's eyes widen and his mouth drops open as he straightens and gapes at the Asha'man for a moment, then narrows his eyes and scowls. "Do you think I'm an idiot? Stop toying with me and tell me where she is!"
Anna grins a bit. "I'v still got plenty of silver left from... here. I can cover a drink or two for us."
Arte coughed and ran his hand through his hair. He knew Anna was trying to bait him into coming over there, but Arte wasn't going to just walk over there so he stayed put and tried to pretend he hadn't heard
Kaela sneaks up behind Arte and whispers. "You know you want to."
Miralee smiles, "I... thanks." She chuckles a little.. trying to relax a bit.
Anna waves down a server and orders a refill for her cider. Motioning to Miralee to order something, Anna grabs her spoon. About to throw it at Arte while Mira isn't looking, another girl gets in her way... darn.
Robin enters the inn, tired from a long day, and looks around before heading over to the bar, to place her order for food. She spies Anna and heads that way after a nod toward Arte.
Kyler growls at the man, "You sir, aren't listening. She is Alya Tesvin Aes Sedai of the Yellow Ajah. You want me to take you to the White Tower dungeons to prove it? Shall I take you to her old rooms in the Tower, to the Infirmary where she healed people? To the burned out wreckage of our old home?"
Arte almost jumps out of his skin when he hears a voice behind him. He lets out a small yelp and spin around. "I wasn't eavesdropping..." Arte trailed off when he realized that it wasn't anna or miralee. He looks over the girl's shoulder and see robin going to join the group. "I'm sorry, do i know you?"
Anna watches Robin quietly. She grins broadly at the woman as she approaches. Putting her spoon down, she waits for another opportunity to get Arte over here.
Kaela chuckles, and parks herself beside him. "Of course you were. Why else would be you watching them so intensely? Unless of course it's just amusement for your eyes." She winks at him. "I'm Kaela, pleasure to meet you."
Robin eyes the spoon and pulls up a chair, then looks at Anna, "Unless you would prefer I sit elsewhere?'
Miralee orders some juice... and sees Robin, not exactly remembering where she's seen her. She nods politely, glancing in the direction of Arte before moving her attention back to Anna and Robin.
Anna laughs, "Light, would I! Gaidar, always up in others business." She smiles, "How ya' been Rob?"
Robin quirks a brow and eyes the spoon as she sits anyway, "Hmph. *I* am not the one seeking trouble like an arrow seeks its target." She settles herself into the chair and nods at Miralee before looking back to Anna, "I'm good, actually." She has that look in her eye that says she's been considering Anna and an idea.
Jory "I...she...I just don't see why she would hide anything like that from me." Sits down finally in an adjacant chair. "I can't see how she could have done something to warrent being arrested by the Aes Sedai. She's...such a gentle creature. She wouldn't ever harm a fly."
Arte blushes slightly and coughs behind his hand. "Well....They are ummm... friends of mine. I'm Arte. Nice to meet you." Arte glances back to the girls in the corner and sighs. It looks like he wouldn't be having that nice conversation with robin there.
Kaela smiles at his blush. "Friends, hmm? Just friends or is there more to it than that? I'd guess that if they were just friedns you wouldn't have been so nervous about going over there."
Lydia says: A letter arrives by Tower liveried courier and calls the name of Alya's husband. Once he finds the man he hands over the singles sheet of was sealed parchment and departs.
Kyler sighs, "She tried to kill another Aes Sedai. If she is lucky they will just still her and let her go. If the worst happens she will be excuted."
Anna sticks her tongue out at Robin. "Me? Finding trouble? Never." Not liking the look in the woman's eyes Anna turns back to Miralee, "Miralee, this is Robin Gaidar, Rob, Mira. She is another good friend... er... not *good* but good." She gives Mira a wink, purposely leaving Robin out on the joke.
Robin snorts as her mug of iced tea arrives, "She has to be good, since she can't be as bad as you."
Arte shakes his head slightly and manages a weak grin. "Well they are both friends right now. Nothing more. They aren't allowed to be more. And I'm not nervous....just embarraassed" Arte mutters the last part under his breath.
Jory blinks when he recieves the letter and falls silent as he reads over it carefully, listening to the Asha'man with half an ear. Suddenly, his face goes pale. "Light..."
Miralee chuckles a little.. then notes the Gaidar's comment. She grins at Anna, "You are trouble?"
Kaela laughs. "Well there's nothing to be embarassed about! They're just people like anyone else. Come on, let's go talk to then." She grabs his hand and practically drags him over to the table. "Hi girls, mind if we join you?"
Kyler shoves a glass at the man, "For what its worth, I'm sorry."
Robin nods quietly giving Miralee a wink. She looks up at Arte, studying him as if measuring him for some form of suitableness.
Anna gives Rob a look. She wasn't bad!... usually. Anna absently wondered if Robin had heard about the White's white office. she looks back at Mira, shaking her head quickly and looking quite insulted. "Nope! Never... well... almost never." She grinned and shrugged.
Robin says: "Arte." Robin said plainly, then glanced at Anna, "Please." She still studied him, "Sit."
Jory takes the glass and stares at it as he lets the parchment fall to the floor. "She...sometimes hinted about...putting things behind her by following the way...I never would have thought that she would have...done something like this. I don't know what to think."
Kaela pushes Arte down into a chair and grabs one for herself. "So the cute one has a name afterall!"
Arte starts to protest as the girl he just met drags him across the Inn. He is trying to pry her fingers off him until she walks them right up to the table. He finally pulls his hand free. Arte does a nervous salute to Robin. He gives a wide-eyes glance to Mira and Anna. He falls into the seat with a loud thud. "Hello Robin, nice night isnt it."
Miralee relaxes a bit at Robin's wink.. and grins back at Anna... then when Arte is dragged to the table, her newfound steady calm almost falters. Almost. She clears her throat and looks at her book for a moment.
Anna 's grin vanished. ~Oh burn me.~ She frowned at Robin, but gives both Arte and Kaela a smile. "I don' mind a bit."
Kyler nods and downs another glass. "I am truly sorry. I wish she had stayed away from this place. Everyone thought she was dead. It would have been better had she stayed hidden away."
Robin watches Miralee's reaction to Arte and looks from one to the other for a moment, "It is a nice night. Aren't you going to say hello to Anna and Miralee?" She glances from one girl to the next and back before settling her green eyes on Arte.
Kaela slaps Arte's shoulder lightly. "Yeah, cutie, don't be rude."
cyris_ walks into the inn wearing his heavy work boots. They fall heavily on the wooden floorboards as he walks over to the bar. He is wearing dark brown pants with a matching cloak, and a forest green shirt. Getting the bartender's attentions he orders a drink. He takes a long, and much appreciated draught from the mug and nodds in thanks.
Arte cheeks go a deeper red than ever. He sweeps his hand through his hair a few times and stutters out a few words. "Hello Anna. Hello Mira." Arte tries to avoid looking at Miralee because of he feels like Robin knows exactly how he feels.
Jory says: "She's been acting odd ever since we came here. I think...perhaps she meant for this to happen. Perhaps she came here to take responsibility for her actions rather than runing from them. Still...I don't understand why she would hide this from me and yet at the same time...I do."
Anna laughed, and nodded towards Arte, giving him an apologetic look. Poor guy, getting cornered by 3 women. Anna tried to remove herself from the circle by scooting back a bit, bringing everyone into her veiw, and crossing her ankles in front of her. She slouched in her chair, looking quite comfortable.
Miralee timidly waves up and murmurs a quiet, "Hello, Arte.." but then her hands immediately return to her book, under which is a squashed scrolled parchment.
Robin leans on her forearms and quirks a brow at him, "All these pretty girls, what...ever is a boy to do?"
Kaela grins at Robin. "Oh I can think of a few things, but I suspect Tower law would take issue with more than one."
Anna sighed, "Such a painful thing, Tower makin' issues."
Arte coughs behind his hand. He wasn't sure what to say, and with Kaela's addition Arte almost swallows his tounge. "I...uhhh....don't..... know what to do."
Miralee was doing so well with controlling her blush.. but when Kaela makes that comment, the flushed rose hue returns to her copper toned cheeks.
Kyler nods and stays silent, just drinking instead
Kaela whispers loudly intentionally. "Generally you start with a compliment. Girls like that."
Robin says: "Most girls, others it gets you no where with."
Kaela laughs. "Well just cause you're a stick in the mud," she winks to let Robin know she's just kidding around. "I for one, love being complimented."
cyris_ turns his back to the bar, so he can have a better look at the common room. He notices a man with shoulder length brown hair sitting at a table surrounded by woman. 'some men have all the luck' thought Cyris to himself. He nearly laughed as he took another drink from his mug. It had been a long day.
Robin frowns, "Who said I was talking about me?"
Arte was in perhaps on of the most nerve racking situations of his life. He was feeling a little bit light headed. He figured to just suck it up and compiment all the pretty girls around him even if he passed out while doing it. "Well...I think you are all very pretty in your own way and im not sure it would be proper to compare."
Anna tries not to burst out laughing, this was so mean. Anna wouldn't have done something like this! She glanced at Miralee curiously, before turning her attention to Arte. "Or talk to them on Daggers. Some like that, but I know you knew that."
Kaela touches Arte's chin and turns his head towards her. "Or you could tell me about my eyes."
Jory sighs and finally gulped down his drink, cringing a bit at the sting before lowering it and rising. "Do you think they will allow me to see her?"
Miralee eyes Kaela for a moment... but then returns her eyes to the book in her hands, fidgeting with the ribbon used to mark her place inside the book. When her juice arrives, she takes her glass and sips quietly.
Arte almost bites his tounge when Kaela touches his chin. He gives a sly, appologetic look to Miralee before looking back at Kaela. "Well...your eyes are a very pretty color. I like how...deep...they look."
Kaela smiles. "It's a good start. Now what about the others? I think if you said something nice to that one there it might pull her away from her book for a moment or two."
Kyler nods, "I don't see why they wouldn't. Why don't you go and see her. Just go to the front gate and explain to the Tower guard. Tell them I sent you. My name is Kyler Kade. Just go see her."
Robin patted Miralee's arm and gives her a small smile, then looks back at Arte, "That is the least original compliment I've ever heard, seriously."
Anna glances at Miralee, she frowns at Robin blaming her for breaking her plans. She glances at Kaela and chuckles. Anna smiles encouragingly at Arte, hoping to give him some confidence. He could face off with these crazed women, she was sure... ish.
Arte messes with his hair for a moment while looking at Miralee. He opens and closes his mouth a few times before blushing a darker red and turning to robin. "I'm sorry, im feeling a little pressured. i can't think straight with all these beautiful girls breathing down my neck."
Kaela claps. "Wonderful
Kaela claps. "Wonderful! Now what about the beautiful girls who aren't breathing down your neck?"
Jory nods and sets his glass down and rakes his fingers through his hair before nodding. "...Thank you." Draws in a deep breath and heads for the door, still in a state of shock as things slowly started to sink in little by little.
Anna chokes on her cider at the last bit of Arte's words. Clearing her throat she tries again to take a sip.
Robin says: "I for one wouldn't be caught dead breathing down your neck, not my style." She takes a drink to cover the smirk.
Miralee glances at Robin and blushes, realizing that Robin must know.. somehow.. it wasn't hard, she admitted to herself. The way Arte made all her sensible demeanor disappear half the time. She felt bad about how everyone seemed to be teasing Arte so badly...
Kyler watches the man go and then he goes back to drinking
Arte looks around helplessly for a moment before sighing and giving up. "Well... I like pretty hair. And i have to say, my favorite here is Miralee's. I also like eyes, Robin has nice eyes, but so do anna, Kaela, and Mira. I cant decide Everyone else is great in their own way i just dont feel right saying it."
cyris cyris continued to watch the man surrounded by the women. He seemed to be struggling a little, and his face was turning a painful shade of red. It was a bit painful to watch, but he still found himself smiling at the man's expense. The women were still flirting with him though, so he couldn't be doing to bad.
Anna leans over and whispers to Mira, "He did the mistake of getting on Robin's good side, same boat as me. Don' worry, I don' think Robin's... big sister-ness is contagious to friends of ours... I think." She shrugs, and turns her attention back to Arte, snickering at his compliment to her.
Robin laughed and elbowed Anna at the same time, "I have..nice..eyes." She shook her head, "I wonder, what do you think he would do Anna if I danced?"
Kaela smiles again. "There's hope for you yet Arte. Anyway, I need to be getting off to my bed... I suspect Vael may come by before the night is out." She leans down and whispers very soft in Arte's ear. "If you're serious about her, talk to me later." Then she inclines her head. "Ladies, Robin it's been a pleasure working with you as always." She slips off upstairs without waiting for a reply.
Miralee blushes at Anna's whispered comment... and she nods to Kaela as she leaves. She had tried not react as Arte was complimenting the others. She smiles, though, and lightly plays with a lock of her hair...
Arte swallows audibly when Kaela whispered in his ear. When she left, Arte felt a little of the pressure back off of him. Now it was only three girls to deal with. Arte tries to melt into his chair "Well...she was nice."
Anna laughed. "You do have *nice* eyes, if, ya know, your into ripping up the sheets or something. and if you dance... I think... We would all... be in trouble with someone who isn't here to see it." She smiled, and nodded to Kaela as she leaves, murmuring a soft 'night'.
Robin laughed and winked at Anna, "She's seen it."
Anna smiled, "Good, good. I'd hate to have had that entire thing to go to waist. I'm still sore from those damned lessons."
Kyler sits in the corner and stares at the chair Alya had been sitting in earlier. He bloody couldn't believe she was alive.
Miralee nods quietly... trying to maintain a quiet calmness. The references to dancing seem somewhat lost to her... Her eyes go from Anna to Robin.. then back to Arte... an apology in her deep chocolate eyes.
Arte lets his hair fall into his eyes. He makes eye contact with Miralee for moment before he turned his attention back to robin and Anna. He didn't understand the talk about dancing, but he had never danced so he thought that any kind of dancing would be a bad idea if it involved him.
Robin leans harder on her elbows, "You've heard of the sa'sara, Arte?"
Miralee 's eyes widen. The sa'sara?

She was Domani, but that dance was even shunned in Arad Doman, as they preferred more subtle ways of charming others.
Anna blinks when Robin brings up the sa'sara. She hadn't expect that.
Arte fiddles with his hands and shakes his head. He hadn't ever heard of the dance, but that wasn't surprising because Arte didn't know a thing about dancing. "No I've never heard of it. What is it?"
Robin grins then glances to Miralee, "Perhaps we should talk about that another time." She winked, then stood grabbing her mug, "Anna, might I have a word with you?"
Anna sighs soflty, and looks at Mira, "Same boat, but she likes me more." She grinned and stood, "Talk to you two later." She gave Arte and confident smile and two thumbs up as she walked behind Mira to follow after Robin, cider in hand.
Miralee blushes at Robin... was she implying something she thought she was implying? The novice met Arte's eyes and the thought of the sa'sara had even her ears red!
Robin chuckles as she makes her way over to another table out of earshot of the pair, she sits and pushes a chair out for Anna, "You hungry?"
Arte gives a confused look to Miralee and Anna. They obviously knew something about the dance, and they were obviously surprised that Robin brought it up. When Anna and Robin moved away, Arte stared at his hands for a few minute. Arte finally worked up the nerve to speak to Miralee. "You really do have beautiful hair." almost an after thought, Arte quickly added, "By the way whats the Sa'sara?"
Anna laughs, "Always," She takes a chair and eyes Robin curiously. "Am I gunna like this talk? or should i get some oosquai?"
Miralee tries not to let her ears be visible... "Thank you," she murmurs quietly. "I... am sorry that you were surrounded like that.."
Miralee pauses... "And... I... it's a.. dance."
Robin smirks, "Just want to run an idea by you, is all." She motions for Melissa to double the food and looks back to her friend, "Well I was thinking after lessons the other day, that we need someone who knows animal anatomy. I mean, I am getting horses for the medic team and I need someone who can train them to do what needs done and be able to tend them."
Arte nods and coughs quietly. "Its not your fault. I'm surprised i didn't pass out from stress." Arte manages a weak grin. He thinks he is just making small talk, not realizing the embarrassing position he is putting Mira in. "A dance eh? I've never heard that dance before. Whats it like?
Anna smiled and listened curiously. "Isn't that what hands around the stables are for? Bartholemew trains a touch I hear. And their other people about the Tower, in and out, who train, or so i'v heard. Would of thought this was a simple problem Rob. Don' tell me y'er slippin' on being cunning."
Kyler looks at the half empty bottle and and stands. He puts the cork back in the top and picks the bottle up leaving the empty glass. Pausing a moment to straighten his coat he then starts for the door.
Miralee tucks her hair behind an ear... looking over at Arte.. trying to relax... though discussing the sa'sara with someone you were interested in was far from relaxing. "I... it's... a dance.. that is.. um.." She pauses.. trying to think straight, "It's.. Uh..."
Robin leaned back and laced her hands behind her head, then nodded, "Bartholomew does, but he's his own duties and can't be spared for the team, and I don't want someone from outside the Tower having access to our animals. You, however, are already in the class *and* you know horses."
Arte watches Miralee toy with her hair. It was true what he said, she has beautiful hair. After i minute of her stuttering trying to describe the Sa'sara, Arte finally caught on a little. His eyes snapped open and he turned beet red. "Oh....is it...I'm so sorry...i didn't mean..."
Anna tried not to sigh and drained her cider instead. She shrugged, "I don' mind helpin' out while I'm hear, though it probably wont be much help. I can even teach someone, of your choice, to jump in when I go back home if ya' really want." The girl was still stubbornly set on returning home.
Robin gave her a soft smile, "At least you decided not to run away." Robin didn't say it, but she would've found it hard to chase her friend. "I'll really miss you, you know."
Miralee blushes a bit... "It's... fine.." She chuckles a little.. fidgeting for a moment with the bookmark in her book. "I'm ok.. "
Anna laughed. Anna hadn't been planning on running away, not before she could channel properly. She knew it was her duty to learn to control this part of her, but now that she could channel... "I know, and I'll miss ya' too Rob." she sighed, the woman liked pulling at her guilt, didn't she. All that was missing was the lip quiver.
Robin says: "You're a good friend, Anna." She sat up and leaned on her forearms again, "You've never once pressured me to talk about....Anneline of the incedent, you just....I appreciate it. Truly."
Arte nodded to himself. He let the silence go on for a few moments before speaking again. "I'm really glad we got a chance to talk tonight. Even if i was blushing the entire time."
Anna shrugged. "I'v never been one to pressure anyone to talk. Nudge maybe, if it doesn't seam like it'll hurt anyone, but never pressure." She smiled. "I'm not selfish all the time, promise. Just here and there."
Miralee chuckles lightly... feeling a little more at ease. "Yea... it is nice..." She leans closer and whispers, "You.. don't think they'll.. get us in trouble, do you?" She glances in the direction of Anna and Robin.
Robin gave a small smile, "I mean it. Really, and you've never passed judgement even when Madie and I....well, over that whole thing either. It's good to know that there's someone I can trust, truly."
Arte smiles and lean forward to look at Anna and Robin. "I don't think they will, since Robin decided to leave us here alone." Arte laughed quietly "Unless we do something very bad."
Miralee blushes... "I.. wouldn't.. I mean.. I need to learn enough to not be a danger to my family at least.. before I mess up that bad.." She chuckles a little.
Anna eyes Robin sideways a moment, before shrugging. She had no bloody idea what to say to that. "Glad I can be here for ya'."
Robin took a drink and was thankful when the food arrived. She glanced over at Anna as she arranged her food, "I hope I've been able to return the favor." There was nothing in her tone, just friendship.
Anna smiled. "Of coarse Rob. Isn't a thing I wouldn't trust you with. Except maybe Batu. But maybe that's me being possessive." She grinned and began working on her food.
Arte understands completely about not wanting to get put out. For him there was no other choice than to stay at the Tower, unless of course he was willing to leave everything and everyone he knew behind. "I know what you mean. I need to get stronger if i want to protect the people i care about."
Robin says: "Oh yeah, that reminds me...did Saren behave himself on your trip?" Robin hadn't asked any details, she'd barely seen Anna outside of class and she knew the girl hadn't been back that long.
Miralee smiles..."I'm sure you will do well in protecting others..." She sips on her juice.
Anna smiled, "Saren handled himself absolutely amazingly well. We ran into a few bumps, and his training showed through amazingly. I was quite impressed."
Robin quirked her brows in question and the bumps, "Oh?" She took a few bites as she listened to Anna.
Arte grins at miralee. "I hope so. That way i could take you to the blight any time..." Arte trails off after mentioning the blight. He and Mira hadn't really spoken about it since he had seen her sweeping the path by the Tower.
Anna nods "You really should take him out on campaigns more. The poor guy just stays cooped up, good training collecting dust like... a statue." She hadn't been about to make a comment about Browns.
Robin nodded around the bites of steak, "I intend for him to become an integral part of this team, but I was asking about the 'bumps'. That way I can test him on those things until he learns to handle them properly."
Miralee blushes... "I don't plan on going anytime soon..." She chuckles nervously, "Way.. way off there... for another two decades or more..."
Anna says: "Oh." Darn... Anna thought Robin would have gone with that for her. "Bumps, yes. A few Trollocs. Rakein Sedai handled them with this HUGE storm. Really interesting."
Arte laughs and leans back. "Two decades? I could wait even longer than that." He fidgets with his shirtsleeve for a moment. "So what have you been doing since we last talked?"
Robin lowered her fork as if it would bite her and looked Anna over from head to toe, "Trollocs?" She kept her voice low, "Rakein Sedai handled them?" The Gaidar frowned a little, "What did Rhiann Sedai do while Rakein Sedai was 'handling them'?" She thought it odd the Blue wouldn't have been doing anything.
Miralee chuckles a little.. and then shrugs at his question, getting more relaxed as the conversation goes along... "Just.. practice, chores, lessons... study..."
Arte points to her book. A different one that he had returned to her, but a big book nontheless. "What book are you studying now?"
Anna winced. "Um... Well... Rhiann got pelted with an arrow and fell off Saren, and I broke my block while Healing her." She finished quickly, sipping her cider.
Robin caught the wince but pretended not to, "Thank the Creator you were there then." That block being broken meant.....she was really going to miss Anna
Robin (hugs Arte)
Miralee smiles, "Just a bit of Tower history and law..." The novice grins, "It's fascinating, really.. if you ignore the bits where nothing happens.."
Anna nods absently, wanting to... she didn't know. Her head swam in the emotions that spun about violently. "I guess. But then again, if I hadn't been around it would have never happened in the first place..."
Robin says: "If you hadn't been around, she might be dead." Robin said plainly, "The Wheel weaves, Anna, you were meant to be there at that time in that place. It could've been worse...it could've been Ralyse Sedai."
Arte grins and nods. "I don't know much about Tower Law, other than the stuff that applies to me directly. And sometimes not even that."
Anna waves her hand, "I meant not there further back, back in the gardens where it all started." Ugh! Why did she even throw that damned snowball? Dumb idea. "Ralyse Sedai?"
Robin laughed, "You don't remember Ralyse Sedai who held that little 'contest' at the Ball?"
Anna blinks, "I had missed the contest, got there too late, but I did hear about it. The crazy woman spilt my ale..." Anna pouted a bit. "When she turned the gravity on high and shut the lights out." That still irked Anna. She hadn't even gotten a sip!!!
Miralee chuckles... "It pays to know these things, though...Knowledge gives you an advantage. If you know the Law wherever you are, and you know the unwritten guidelines.. pay attention to people.. You'll have a great tool."
Robin snorted, "Well I am sure she is no happier to know that I am bonded in fact to Madienne." Robin gave a sarcastic shrug, "Oh well."
Arte shakes his head slowly. "Politic are over my head. I would be more like a guard than a nobleman or merchant. I don't have enough....polish for that."
Anna laughed, "Oh well." She dug back into her food.
Robin set about eating her food as well, thinking as she ate, "Well I'm happy to know you'll be helping to get the horse training and vet med part off the ground. That's a weight off my chest."
Miralee chuckles, "You'll learn something of it.. There are rites written in here that even Warders are supposed to follow."
Anna chuckles softly, "Not a problem. I need somethin' interesting to fill my day."
Robin nodded, "So where do you want to start?"
Arte raises an eyebrow. "Really? Any one in particular i should know about?" Arte leaned forward onto his elbows. "I wouldn't want to break one without knowing it."
Miralee shrugs, "Well.. one is about how you are to enter to the presence of the Amyrlin Seat.. There's a lot of ritual recitations and specific gestures.."
Anna blinked and thought about it. "Well... um... I guess place first? You got a place picked out or set aside?" Anna was a little surprised, suddenly having something so big on her plate, yet didn't mind all that much.
Arte laughs quietly. "Well, theres not much chance of that. Not for a lowly Siswai like me."
Miralee grins, teasing, "Unless you do something a lot worse than.. you know.." She smirks a little.. sipping more of her orange juice.
Arte smiles and leans forward again. "A lot worse than what?" Arte gave a small chuckle. "I'm a good student who never does anything wrong."
Robin nodded, "Yep, there's a field near the infirmary where we've set up temporary stables and supply for the horses as their own stalls are being built." She made a face, "Of course, the horses are still a week out from their arrival from Saldaea."
Miralee laughs... loudly... and then covers up her mouth trying not to get Robin and Anna's attention.
Arte puts a finger up to his lips and makes a shushing noise. He can't help but grin and almost breaks into a fit of laughter. "What?!? You don't believe me?"
Robin can't help but mess with the pair. She looks at Arte seriously, "Boy, your hands better be on the table." Then looks back at Anna.
Anna pursed her lips thoughtfully. Glancing over at Mira and Arte a moment she smiles warmly before turning back to Robin, snorting at the woman's comment. "Saldaea? Your father's stock?"
Miralee laughs still.. trying to stop... She whispers at him, still giggling, "No, I don't believe you..." She chuckles.. then blushes at Robin's comment.
Robin nods, "Yep. He agreed to donate horses for his little girl." The Saldaean grinned broadly after attempting a coy smile which failed.
Arte only laughs harder when Robin gives him the warning. He puts both hands up and then lays them on the table. Still laughing hard Arte wipes a tear from his eyes. "I will have you know that i am PERFECT, in every sense of the world."
Miralee giggles still... still trying to cover her mouth to reduce the noise. She can hardly breathe for the laughter, "A perfect pain in the butt to the Warders, likely..."
